Mia (Milinda)'s Story
I was married to an awesome guy (Elliot Goebel) in 1985. We had 5 children. When the youngest (twins) were 3, Elliot was informed that cancer would take him within 6 months. (He died within 3)
I had a new set of priorities. I went back to College and found it very hard to concentrate after a day with 5 kids.
So I got a job as a para-pro at an elmentary school.
Soon, I met a Pastor (also widowed from cancer) who lived in Michigan.I fell madly in love. He was irresistable! We married and his 2 boys joined the crowd. We now have 7 kids altogether. They have all lost a parent.. they understand each other. Although I will agree w...Expand for more
ith almost so many others who say that blending families is a lot of work!
David and I now live in California and are working very hard to plant a church in Shafter. It is so hot here! After all my life in the midwest, I find it fascinating to see things like Christmas decorations being sold at the Home Depot...down the aisle from seed packets, an active outdoor home and garden center with colorful bright flowers! (People here plant winter gardens!)
I miss my friends from High School. (I made so many mistakes.) It's been a long time...and life has been a bit hard but God has proven Himself faithful.
